Elderly cleaning service goes beyond providing cleaning to seniors but also having the ability to work through frustrated family members or third parties to guarantee the customer is satisfied. Most seniors are stubborn and don’t want strangers in their homes or feel ashamed because they can’t clean their homes themselves. No matter the circumstances, getting help is often challenging for everyone involved.
For ICS, most of our workflow involves serving the senior community. In our experience, it’s a blessing to work with seniors since they speak their minds. I respect transparency in a world of confusion. However, this kind of disposition doesn’t always go well for the caretaker of someone in this stage of their life. If you are so fortunate to reach this stage of life, as I often say, “Once a man, twice a child.”
In 2002, our first elderly client was challenging, and we learned very quickly that we needed to be good listeners and explain everything, especially regarding disposable items. In some cases, it is imperative to aid in facilitating donations instead of disposing of unwanted items. Instead of trying to prove a point listen, and instead of excluding the customer from the decluttering process because it might slow it down, include them, which gives the customer a chance to trust the cleaning team. Once trust has been established, letting go of unwanted items will be easier.
Senior or elderly depression cleaning is also used to describe this type of cleaning. It is not the case that all elderlies are depressed, but sometimes they are. Generally, we recommend having a support system on-site to assist seniors through the house cleaning process.
We’ve found that elderly cleaning requires patience, understanding, and sometimes even a hug. I appreciate you reading this. Peace and light. Apolonia
